CARNIVAL OF COLORS
Ah finally, the carnival of colors is here The sweet scent of gujiya and gulal in the air As I put on my old white shirt and head out Armed with seven hues I look out and scout Premises I pass with flying colors all around With iconic holi songs blasting in the background Slightly swaying to the sound, I spot familiar faces Noticing my unsullied face, one quickly approaches I splash shades of pink at him, evading his balloon showers And we dance to no end, soaked and cladded in colors The fragrance of festive food and drinks is intoxicating All of a sudden I notice an old friend secretly passing Picking up my pichkari and aiming it at her, I spray While laughingly shouting “Bura na mano holi hai!”
